The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day animal health management, ensure operational efficiency, supervise staff, and maintain high standards in animal welfare and productivity across all farm units.


Key Responsibilities

  • Animal Health & Welfare
  • Provide preventive and curative veterinary care for all livestock and poultry
  • Develop and implement vaccination schedules and health protocols
  • Diagnose, treat, and monitor animal health conditions
  • Ensure biosecurity measures are in place and strictly adhered to
  • Farm Management & Operations
  • Oversee daily farm operations with a focus on performance, discipline, and process adherence
  • Coordinate feed programs, breeding, and flock/herd performance monitoring
  • Manage farm inventory: vaccines, medical supplies, equipment, and livestock movements
  • Ensure cleanliness, housing, and environmental sustainability practices
  • Team Leadership & Training
  • Supervise farm personnel and support staff
  • Train and mentor farm workers on animal care, safety, and best practices
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement corrective action plans
  • Record keeping & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records on animal health, treatments, mortality, production metrics, inventories, and staff activities
  • Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for executive review
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve productivity and reduce losses


Compliance & Standards


  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for animal health, welfare, and farm safety
  • Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all units
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and escalate non-conformities


Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid professional license to practice veterinary medicine in Nigeria
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in livestock/poultry veterinary practice, farm production management, or related field
  • Strong understanding of livestock health, nutrition, reproductive management, and disease control
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Preferred Prior experience managing commercial poultry or livestock operations
  • Knowledge of modern farm management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise large teams and maintain production KPIs
